Archie

Archie is the factory’s own operator. It runs on the hub, watches the goals you give it, and tells you when something needs you. It’s still being rolled out, and this page covers only the parts that are built.

You give Archie an initiative in chat:

Archie, track <goal> | metric: csv:logs/<file>.csv#<column> | every: 7d | escalate: change

Archie keeps a register of these. Every 15 minutes it checks the ones that are due. Only when an initiative’s escalation rule fires does it make a model call and send you one message: its recommendation first, then the goal, the metric, links, and how to reply. If nothing needs you, it stays quiet.

You answer with Archie approve I3, Archie change I3 <what> or Archie drop I3. Those are handled directly, with no model call.

Metrics are a CSV column under logs/ or nothing. A chat message never becomes code that runs on the hub.

Archie doesn’t only wait for its schedule. A merged PR, an outcome, a budget alert, a re-plan or a follow-up you set can each wake the initiative it concerns. Each event wakes it once. You can set quiet hours and a daily cap on messages. Anything held back arrives later as one digest.

Archie’s judgment calls are written down as skills. Each one comes with recorded cases, the situation and the right answer. A skill only changes if the new version still gets every recorded case right. A correction you give becomes a new case, so the same mistake can’t come back quietly.

Once a day Archie scans X and the web for news about AI software factories and agent tooling. It scores each find on one question: does this apply to us? The ones that do become proposals in the ideas list. Once a week it sends one digest with the top five.

Every escalation Archie sends is recorded with its class. When you approve the same kind of decision enough times in a row, Archie offers to stop asking. It only stops if you say Archie delegate <class>.

Some classes can never be delegated: anything touching a client’s board, spend, production, merging or deploys. Archie always asks about those.
